As we near the end of the year, we’re looking ahead to our future and planning for 2022. We want to grow our work and ensure that no young griever grieves alone. Find out more about our plans in this blog post, and how you can support us to make them happen!
There is one week left on our fundraiser!
We’ve been running a Crowdfunder to raise the money we need to carry out our future plans, and there is just one week left. We’re still a little way off our target of £5,000 – could you consider supporting us?
All donations are being matched by the National Emergencies Trust, so when you donate £10, we receive £20 – it’s the perfect time to support us financially.
Why are we asking for money?
In July 2021 we were approved by the Charity Commission for England and Wales as a registered charity (number 1195258).
We want to use this opportunity to grow and develop our work. During the pandemic, we had a lot more costs to pay than we had money coming in, so we need to build our reserves back up. Becoming a charity opens a lot of doors for funding, but since 2018 our costs have increased and we need to build strong foundations that will ensure Let’s Talk About Loss can continue to be here for grievers all over the UK.
What are we going to spend the money on?
- Making our meet ups completely free for anyone to come along by paying for venues, activities and drinks and snacks – £3000 a year
- Training on inclusivity, mental wellbeing and complex bereavement for over 75 volunteer Hosts to make sure all our wonderful volunteers love being part of Let’s Talk About Loss and feel really confident – £2500 a year
- Advertising on social media, through partnership campaigns, maybe even a TV advert (we’re dreaming big!) – £2000 a year
- Events to bring grievers together such as comedy events, art exhibitions, big meet ups and campaigns such as Men Talk About Loss that encourages more men to get involved in Let’s Talk About Loss – £4000 a year
